Kishi

This is a brand-new piece, portraying a simple room with a view of a narrow Japanese garden in 1/12 scale.

Doing the tatami this way--all vertical--is a first for me, but I like the way it came out.

Hm, where does that gate lead to?

The small pond in the garden. The garden is only 4 inches from fence to edge of the step.

    1. John, this one is now in a FedEx truck waiting to be delivered to its owner. But I hope to have a Japanese piece in Chicago..... probability is 68%. In any case hope to see you there!

    1. Yes, the "trunks" of the trees are real wood, dried and sealed.

  6. Erik, I showed these pictures to a friend who is just getting into miniatures - and she thought it was a REAL Japanese house! She was so shocked when I told her it was a room box.

  7. Hello Erik,
Another fantastic room. It is just beautiful. It is incredinbly realistic. The tatami vertical tatami mats really drw the eye to the scene and I think make the room look bigger. I bet the gate leads to the garden in Kill Bill!
    Big hug,
