This is "Aspen" in its mostly-finished state. It's a two-story townhouse featuring a sweeping roofline that accentuates the view out the large windows. It is facing Colorado mountains, so you'd need a lot of glass to take them all in.

The structure is built in 1:12 scale.

Ambient lighting on the upper floor and recessed lighting on the lower level highlight the floating fireplace, LED chandilier, and simple lines of this modern house.

All lighting is user-controlled by remote control, with multiple channels for various lighting modes.

A pool outside the lower level window and a small garden plot to the side.

Rusted panels of the rear exterior walls.

Aspen was featured in Miniature Collector's "Chicago International" coverage, August 2014 edition.

TARDIS (phase 1)

Any Doctor Who fans out there? I have been an on-again off-again kind of Doctor Who watcher for a long time. I cannot identify every species, planet, timeframe, or character in the series (and I might not be able to list every doctor, come to think of it), but I love the depth of thought that goes into the stories. And who cannot like a time machine like the TARDIS?

I recently attended a Doctor Who convention. Needless to say, as with any convention of this type, there were hardcore fans of every persuasion to be found. It was a lot of fun meeting and talking with them. And they defintely COULD name every species, planet, timeframe, or character in the series.

I was there to present my phase 1 of my TARDIS model. I wanted to see if there was any interest among Doctor Who fans in creating a kit to create a TARDIS. Here are some shots of the TARDIS I created and some highlights of the convention:
