Serenade of Yesterdays

A project in 1:35 scale. This piece features a fairly complex bunch of sets. Rather than being the main focus, they are simply backgrounds meant to add realism to the centerpiece: a 54mm scale figure that will be the focus of the scene and the theme for the title.

The scene features one complete facade and two partial side facades, atop a cobble street. Taking place in an unspecified past time in London's east end, the street names, year, or other details are only backdrops to a theme of memories.

Not much of a blogger, I know, so let's cut to the chase. Picture's worth a thousand words, right. Here are the finished photos:

  1. It is just wonderful. The detail is so fine you would never know what scale it was in or if it was real.
"A project in 1:35 scale portraying a man with his better days behind him." I find this sentence a bit confusing. Surely you are NOT referring to yourself. Your work is beautiful!

  2. Thank you, and good point! I updated the narrative from my personal blog. You are correct, it's not about me.

  3. Hello Erik,
The 3 building facades are wonderful. I love the exposed brick patches and your ageing technique is so realistic. I cannot wait to see more.
    Big hug

  4. This is amazing...I love facade buildings and yours is looks fantastic... Can't imagine it being so little!
